Will you introduce about your organization?
Jordan Esports Committee is the main governing body for Esports in Jordan. It was established at the end of 2019 and became a member of the International Esports Federation in 2020. Since then, it has been working towards supporting its players by establishing national teams in different games and representing Jordan regionally and internationally. Jordan Esports Committee has established the first Jordanian Esports female team in 2022 during the Arab Esports League in Riyadh. It was the first time Jordan participated in Esports with a female national team. The Jordan Esports Committee also became a member of the Asian Esports Federation in 2021. Jordan Esports team's last participation resulted in the 3rd place in the world in PUBG mobile in the IESF Bali 2022.
What is your main role?
I work as a general manager and my responsibilities cover improving eff iciency and managing the committee’s overall operations. Those include preparing regular reports for upper management and developing esports strategy, as well as preparing plans for our participation in international esports events. This planning includes budget breakdowns, organization of the committee meetings, preparation of the players lists and their ranking, preparation of the trip plans for the players and officials, communication with the International Esports Federation and organization of delegations meeting sessions with the players and officials who are participating in esports events.
How did DTM experience help you to upgrade yourself?
As a DTM alumna, I tried my best to implement everything I learned from the program. The DTM experience lies in the impact that it created, which today we as alumni try to apply to our work and contribute to the sports industry whether directly or indirectly.
Any other stories you might want to share with us?
I finished my bachelor degree at the Hashemite University of Jordan in the Sport management with coaching major, and worked as a personal Trainer for nearly 6 years and as a PE teacher for 3 years. I loved my job, but I felt I needed something more. I decided to apply for DTM and became part of this amazing program. During my stay in Korea, I saw how huge the gaming culture is and how much Koreans love to play video games – at any public place, one can always find someone playing video games. This was the time I realized I could put the two things I loved together: Sport management and gaming. I went back home at the end of 2020 and decided to propose my ideas to the JOC. That was how my journey at the Jordan Esports committee began.
